Content:

  • Informed consent.
  • Safety and sedation during endoscopy.
  • Antibiotic prophylaxis.
  • Endoscope design, function, accessories and handling.
  • Diagnostic upper GI endoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy.
  • Basic endoscopic technique.
  • Modern endoscopy suite provision

Format:

  • Hands-on experience using models  performing endoscopes on patients supported by lectures, discussion and videos.
  • Skills review and assessment with individualised learning outcomes and progression plans

Suitable for:

  • Trainees beginning to learn diagnostic OGD/flexible sigmoidoscopy trainees wishing to consolidate training for JAG submission
  • Those wishing to update endoscopy practice and undergo assessment

Duration:

Three days.
