Content:
- Informed consent.
- Safety and sedation during endoscopy.
- Antibiotic prophylaxis.
- Endoscope design, function, accessories
and handling.
- Diagnostic upper GI endoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy.
- Basic endoscopic technique.
- Modern endoscopy suite provision
Format:
- Hands-on experience using models performing
endoscopes on patients supported by lectures,
discussion and videos.
- Skills review and assessment with
individualised learning outcomes and progression plans
Suitable for:
- Trainees beginning to learn diagnostic OGD/flexible
sigmoidoscopy trainees wishing to consolidate training for JAG
submission
- Those wishing to update endoscopy practice
and undergo assessment
Duration:
Three days.
